The Bio-Solids Treatment Facility Projects
The Bio-solids Treatment Facility, at the Southwest Water Reclamation Facility, will process the sludge produced by both the Everest and Southwest facilities, into a dried pelletized product. The pellets can then be sold as a fertilizer by the City. This project eliminates the need to truck the excess sludge off site for disposal, and creates a revenue generating product for the City.
The Bio-solids Treatment Facility will utilize proven technology, and equipment, supplied under an executed pre-purchase agreement. The process will be housed in a building which will be comprised of structural steel, masonry, and metal siding construction. Electrical and control rooms will be part of the main building to provide the necessary power, controls and communications for plant operation.
Construction is expected to begin fall of 2008 and facility start up scheduled for August 2010.
