Surfside Blvd.

Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to extend potable water piping, irrigation piping, and gravity sewer piping with associated pump station in the Surfside Blvd construction area of Cape Coral, FL.

Boundaries:
The Surfside Blvd construction will be taking place on the following streets:

Surfside Blvd from Veterans Pkwy to Trafalgar Pkwy, SW 23rd Lane from Surfside Blvd to SW 23rd Place,
SW 23rd Street from Surfside Blvd to SW 21st Ave,
SW 22nd Terrace from Surfside Blvd to McDonough Canal,
SW 18th Terrace from Surfside Blvd to McDonough Canal,
Trafalgar Pkwy from Surfside Blvd to 200 ft east of SW 22nd Court, Sports Blvd from Trafalgar Pkwy to 600 feet north,
SW 23rd Place from SW 23rd Lane south to Cul-de-sac,
SW 21st Ave from SW 23rd street to 600 feet south

Please note boundaries may vary slightly in some areas, refer to project map.

Project Statistics:
The Surfside construction will install the following key piping:

  • 6 miles of new pipe, including
    - 2 miles of potable water pipe
    - 2 miles of irrigation pipe
    - 2 miles of gravity sewer
     
  • 1100 linear feet of sewer force main
  • 29 new manholes
  • 1 new sewage pump stations
  • Approximately 100 new land parcels will be serviced with potable water, irrigation water, and sewer

MWH has provided a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $2.7 million for this project.

Schedule:
Notice to Proceed is expected from the City on June 4, 2007
Final Completion of the Surfside construction is expected November 30, 2008, as the work is limited by the 3 nesting bald eagles that affect the project area.
